Honorable Mention Title:Sisters Twin sisters who share a strong bond of love. They have dealt with good and bad but with the support of each other the girls get through life's battles together. This image is part of my long form work entitled “When you took me away’ and devoted to and inspired by my brother James. The sisters, together with many other Indigenous Australians, originate from a period in Australian history known as ‘The Stolen Generations’. A time when the civil rights and culture of Indigenous Australians were not considered significant or recognised and the removal of young children from their families was common practice—a practice sanctioned by the laws of the government at that time.
