Biography: The digital and film photography of Lance B. Carter carries a crisp density, highlighting the almost daunting architecture of nature. Carter's work brings with it the exciting temperament of an independent explorer. Both his color and black and white photographs of wildlife chart his love for the beauty and challenges of nature. Carter grew up on a New England farm and has worked alongside biologists during photo expeditions. His familiarity with his photographed world feels rare and his process requires a stamina for isolation.
