Title:Whirling Ballet
A single staircase was captured in Enschede, a town in the East of the Netherlands. I turned the construction of round shapes and metal steps into this ballet of rhythm and motion.
Biography:
Geometric patterns, rhythm and lines are driving forces in my work. What fascinates me in photography is the interplay between realistic registration and geometric abstraction. This is why I often choose to photograph (elements of) architecture. Apart from its functions (housing, office space, contemplation), architecture also has a graphical, abstract dimension which is a primary focus of my photography. |
