Biography:
James Cowlin began his career as a commercial photographer in Phoenix, Arizona. Because of his interest in the natural world, he soon added landscape and travel photography to his practice. His work was inspired by several contemporary artist including Merrill Mahaffey with whom he explored the diverse landscapes of Arizona. With the support of an Artist Fellowship from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, he spent a month backpacking the 200-mile long Verde River, his first extended photographic project. He has completed several portfolios including Canyons of the Colorado and Rockscapes.... |
