Mandrill, Mandrillus sphinx is a serious looking non-human primate. When I see his teeth showing I know it's called an appeasement smile. I wonder what he looks like when he's angry?
Biography:
Jennifere Thompson is an Australian photographer specialising in wildlife and wild animal portraits. Jennifere is also the founder of the project ICU TOO, a continuous print exhibition from 2014-2024. The project is about the parallel of expressions that primates share with humans. ICU TOO images are dark and mostly void of background by artistic choice, so that humans will look closely into the face of the primate.
