3rd Place - Honor of Distinction Title: The beauty clock The Beauty Clock is part of my latest series, Eye of the Beholder. In this series, I examine the significant impact of societal beauty norms on women's self-perception. The series explores how various industries, such as glossy magazines and cosmetic chains, influence concerns related to appearance. This work challenges the pressures of societal expectations that measure worth by adherence to beauty ideals. I also shed light on the indoctrination from a young age with the belief that finding a partner is essential for a fulfilling life and that beauty plays a significant role in that pursuit. Being single is often stigmatized, leading to a sense of failure and inadequacy. Beauty pressure is constant, as if every second brings us closer to the inevitable loss of youth, sadly still equating a woman's value to her appearance in our society.
