2nd Place - Merit of Excellence Title:QUEEN "African Art inspires me. What I wanted to achieve is to build a large series of two-dimensional sculptures based on classical African Art that would have the same strong presence I find in some wooden statues and masks. I felt the desire to place African Art within a contemporary frame. I worked with the outstanding headpieces and accessories by young designer Romain Brau who has the same fascination with Africa as a source of inspiration as I do. I explored my freedom as an artist within the bounderies of this theme. This series contains 15 images. "Afrique 2" is one of them. "
