Title:Asian Elephant Eye
Here are images of the Mahout Training School within the Thai Elephants Conservation Center. The TECC, founded in 1993 under Royal Patronage, cares for over 100 Asian elephants in a forest located near Chiang Mai, Thailand. We rode, fed, washed, cleaned up after the elephants and learned how to make them obey us. We saw an elephant talent show, met a 7 day old baby elephant, and rode them an hour and a half into the jungle, where we had a camp out.
Biography:
I am the only child of fantastic parents, who when I was three years old escaped communist Romania and found political asylum in the US. After feeling out several career paths, that include completion of the engineering core and most of the pre-med core, I hopelessly fell in love with visual storytelling. I love how photography can be technical yet intimate; very risky, yet very much needed; serious, yet fun, and all while serving as a ticket into the lives and culture of people I would never otherwise meet.
