The photograph was taken in 2013, Beijing, China under the theme "The monuments of China", which includes monuments of the "new" and "ancient" China.
Biography:
Mikhail Porollo is a Russian photographer living in Brussels.
He started studying photography whilst living in South Africa. Since then, besides The South African College of Photography, he has done quite a few specialist courses and workshops in South Africa, Russia, Belgium and Namibia, including Central Saint Martins college of Art and Design, UK.
His preference for conceptual photography is supplemented by deep interest in architecture and landscapes. For Mikhail, photography is not just capturing a moment or the beauty of life but also a way to express his ideas and experiences.
