Title:Naked brother Many of my work deals with the construction of roles in our culture. In particular with the notion of male hood in a society with deep religious and archaic perceptions about the notion of gender. Those roles have deep roots in the history of western art and that's why I play with the photography as a medium to make evident the unnatural construction that is to be a "man" and act like a "man". The piece is important in a personal level because it explores the relation between classic painters like Goya (majas), vintage photography and the male stereotypes that have been part of the education in my country. The model is my step brother JJ Calderón and that creates a link more personal.
