Biography:
I was born and raised in southern Ontario along the shoreline of the Great Lakes - remnants of the last Ice Age containing one fifth of the world’s fresh water. I grew up to the rhythmic pulse of waves lapping on a stoney beach, and falling asleep to the sound of a fog horn aiding cargo ships in the thick darkness. Weekends and summers were spent near Parry Sound where countless lakes connect in a cascade to Georgian Bay. Here, granitic outcrops of the Canadian Shield, crisscrossed with veins of quartz and warmed by the heat of the summer sun, slope invitingly into cool fresh lake water -... |
