Title:Boy with White Collar
Photoseries 'White Collar' is an autonomous project, started by the photographer in 2009. Portraits with a 17th-century antique ruff collar from the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
Biography:
Dutch photographer Marie Cecile Thijs specializes in staged photography (Portraiture and Still Live). In her photographs she strives for intensity and stillness.
She initially had a career as a lawyer, but more than fifteen years ago she rediscovered her earlier love for the camera, and decided to become a photographer. Since then, she has achieved recognition for her photoseries 'White Collar', 'Human Angels', 'Legal Practitioners', 'Cooks", Majestic', 'Horses' and 'Food Portraits'. She is also known for her portraits of politicians, artists and writers.
