Summer House II
Title:Summer House II
This image is special in a way for me I came across this summer house some years ago and it triggers a memory from my youth. When driving the road to Reykjavik (capital of Iceland) from my home town in the west fjords Iceland many many years ago (to many I often think)I first saw this type of summerhouses and it always was strange to me, the house how was like the house it self had sunken into the ground and only the roof stood up. I still se this summer houses driving back to my birthplace in the west fjords but this one is just a shore distance from my house. I decided to shoot this image in the fall when the colours would match the colour of the house because this summer house is not used any more and this type of making summerhouses is gone fading away like the summer.

Biography: “I was born in 1963 at Thingeyri in the West Fjords, Iceland. I am a self-taught photographer. I spend a lot of my time photographing providing my job – I work as a graphic designer and sales manager in a sign company, allows me to do it. I am currently living at Hafnarfjordur near Reykjavik in Iceland. Photographing allows me to connect to nature and recharge my inner battery. I grew up in the West Fjords, a very harsh area that probably has had some influence in my photographs. I look for areas and images where I can express the power of nature.
