Honorable Mention Title: Storm Wave at Sunset This photograph was taken at the northwest corner of the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i during a winter storm. The wave is about 50 feet high, and its shape caused by an outgoing wave slamming into an oncoming wave -- the color provided by the translucence of the wave lit by the sunset. I was far up the beach and photographed the storm for a couple of hours. This happened only once.
