Title:Crossing Buso During the annual Poklade a group of busos cross the river Danube in boats. I was the 1st photographer ever to be able to join them on their journey. Man dressed as a "buso" is crossing the River Danube during the annual "Buso festivities" (Poklade) in Mohacs, Souther Hungary. Buso festivities is a multi-century-old tradition representing fertility, carneval, farewell to winter and welcoming spring. Men hide their identities by wearing hand-made, artisan, scary wooden masks with horns and huge coats made of sheep skin. The tradition of crossing of the river by a group of "busos" date back to the mythological origin of this tradition, when people crossed the river in scary costumes and masks and scared away the supersitious occupying Turks in the 16th century.
