3rd Place - Honor of Distinction Title:Sunday Remembrance At dawn each Sunday just north of the Santa Monica pier, the Veterans for Peace place hundreds of crosses in the sand to pay tribute to "all American military personnel who've lost their lives in the US global war on terror." While each white cross remembers one life, each red cross represents ten lives. The crosses are placed in measured rows and then methodically straightened to resemble Arlington National Cemetery. Will we ever "build a culture of peace?"
