Title:The Lesson For this photograph taken from the series "The Many Faces of Marie", I explore a more intimate topic with a sensuality that can't be expressed. The choice of the character of Marie-Antoinette is reinforced by the fact that her hair had turned white overnight due to stress when she was sentenced to death - which is called the Marie-Antoinette Syndrome. White and red play an important part in this story. In light of the virginal connotation of white, playing with red apples is a reflection of what my character is going through on an inner level. This series is also a chapter of my body of work The Other, where I have been working on identity and self-limiting beliefs. Each chapter of this series takes place in a different environment, where I explore the turmoils my characters are going through.
