Title: The Gates Artist-couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude have made it their signature, temporarily covering buildings, islands, and coastlines to call awareness. In 2005, they erected some 7,500 vibrant orange gates throughout the winterly Central Park, lifting people's spirit and changing the park's environmental memory forever for those who visited and experienced the installation. This is what art does. It transforms, creates memory, and adds a layer of seeing the world around us differently.
