SPANGLE
Title:SPANGLE
SPANGLE emerged from the patina of an ancient rusty door in Nanxun, a historic water town in Zhejiang Province, China. In traditional Chinese culture, a door is not merely a functional structure but a potent symbol. It delineates the boundary between the external world and the sanctuary of home, representing thresholds of warmth and cold, safety and risk. My fascination with Chinese culture and its rich tapestry of symbols inspired me to transform this door into an abstract. By employing subtle post-processing techniques, I have unearthed and accentuated the hidden colors of the door, bringing its deep symbolic significance to vibrant life.

Biography: With a background in surface science, I am drawn to details, patterns, textures, forms and colours that surround us and influence our feelings. They are the basis of my inspiration and provide the frames to my works. Through the combination of various camera techniques, I transform these frames and their colours into abstracts that bring my visual imagination to life. Having lived in a variety of countries I have the strong desire to bridge the gap of cultural differences and raise awareness to the beauty of nature through my works.
