Title: Hollywood Sign I got access to the sign accidentally, and since it is a very highly restricted area in the Hollywood hills I will withhold my technique! I will say that I was adopted by the LAPD Infrastructure Protection Squad up at the sign and they then granted me access. After seeing the photo they chose it as part of their tribute to their fallen comrade-at-arms, a retired Marine, who was a highly decorated hero. The real deal. When he retired from his more than 20 years career he had more medals than he could fit on his chest. Sadly he died from pancreatic cancer several months before this photo was taken, and since I shot it from his favorite place to sit, they thought it fitting. When they asked me if they could buy a print, I told them absolutely not. It is my sole honor to have my print of this photo hanging as part of his tribute. There is nothing better in life to have what you love to do make such a difference.
