Title:Clevedon Pier
Clevedon Pier was built during the 1860s and is situated on the east shore of the Bristol Channel, in the South West of England. It was described by Sir John Betjeman, as "the most beautiful pier in England" and it is visited by many thousands of people throughout the year, including photographers.
The Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal range in the world, only exceeded by the Bay of Fundy in Canada and therefore there are numerous opportunities to photograph the pier, whether at high tide, low tide, Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter.
Over the years that has been done countless times, yet it still draws photographers from around the country and beyond wishing to capture its Victorian charm.
When I first visited it was my intention to create something a bit different, not to follow the norm but to show it in a different light and from a new perspective and having been a Nominee in this year’s awards I believe I have achieved this.
