Honorable Mention Title: Blue Pool at Golden Hour I have always loved to combine light and water as photographic elements, and blue is a signature color for me. So I kept coming back to this spot, the local YMCA pool, to see the light. On this day and at this particular time, I liked the effect with the reflections. The Y is a large part of our community, so the setting is even more fitting. And the image itself reminds me to find beauty in the everyday.

Honorable Mention Title: Topographic #2 Topographics are monochromatic digital images of human form that have been have been transformed into abstracted, surreal images that play with the interaction between sensual perception of flesh and the two-dimensional graphic surface. This project originated around 2005. I was interested in reducing images of the human form to simple, flat, abstract, monochromatic graphics by applying topographic contour lines that define the sense of space of the subjects. I am interested in the scientific concept of representing 3D space on a 2D surface. The contour lines also present a tactile/visual interface that creates its own sensual experience.
