Title:Coming Soon, Dudley GA
These works come from a project, U.S.80, that I have recently completed. U.S.80 was the first coast-to-coast highway in America, pre-dating even the fabled Route 66. It spans nearly 3,000 miles and runs between Savannah, Georgia and San Diego, California, covering an enormous diversity of the American landscape and culture. During three visits between 2008 and 2009, I travelled the road with a friend several times, building a collection of large format photographs that document its landscapes and people.
Biography:
I studied at LCC and St.Martin's, both part of the University of the Arts in London, and work in large format photography. My projects include Left London (2006), an exploration of derelict sites around my home city; U.S.80 (2010), which focused on the first coast-to-coast highway in America; Dark City (2011), showing the de-peopled urban environment at night; and Orwell (2012), which traces some of the locations of the renowned author's life. My work has been exhibited and featured in various shows, competitions, magazines and websites, as well as being held by collectors such as Nike and... |
